These terms cover your use of The Trip at https://thetrip.golf and https://app.thetrip.golf (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, running a trip on the Service, or using a trip page, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What The Trip is
The Trip lets a golf group (or its organizer, the “commissioner”) build a web page for a trip: itinerary, lodging, tee times, live scoring, side games, photos and optional text-message updates. Golfers open the page with a link, and some parts are protected by a group passcode.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 to create an account or buy a plan.
- Give accurate information and keep your password private. You're responsible for activity under your account.
- The commissioner can invite co-admins, who get the same access to that trip. Only invite people you trust.
- Golfers don't need an account. They use the trip link, join link or group passcode the commissioner shares.
3. What you put on the Service
You own what you add (trip details, photos, documents, stories). You give us permission to store it, display it to the people you share the trip with, and process it to run the Service.
As a commissioner or member you agree that you:
- have the right to share what you upload, including photos of other people;
- will only add phone numbers and email addresses of people who are comfortable receiving trip messages;
- won't upload anything unlawful, harassing, infringing or harmful, and won't try to break or overload the Service.
We can remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules.
4. Plans and payment
- Free: a trip page with itinerary, one scored round, up to 8 players and phone alerts, with some features limited.
- Weekend ($49, one time): the full trip site for one trip without text messaging, kept live for one year from the purchase date. It does not renew automatically.
- Weekend + Texts ($109, one time): everything in Weekend plus automatic text messages, reminders and text sign-up for followers, kept live for one year from the purchase date. It does not renew automatically. A Weekend trip can add texting later for $60.
- Group ($199 per year): up to 5 trip sites per year plus a group hub. It renews every year until you cancel. You can cancel any time and keep access through the end of the paid year.
Prices are in US dollars and may change for future purchases, never for a plan you've already paid for. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. You're responsible for any taxes that apply. See the Refund Policy for refunds.
5. Text messages
Paid plans can send trip updates by text (for example, match results and dinner reminders). Message and data rates may apply. Anyone can stop texts at any time by replying STOP. The commissioner controls which updates go out and who receives them, and is responsible for having the right to add each number. Spectators who sign up on a trip page agree to receive updates for that trip until they unsubscribe.
6. Scores, handicaps and side games
Scoring, match-play results, handicap strokes and skins totals are calculated for fun and convenience. They are not official handicaps or tournament results, and the commissioner is responsible for entering correct information. The Trip only keeps track of side bets and skins; we don't hold, move or guarantee any money between players. You're responsible for following the laws that apply to any wagering in your group.
7. Availability and your data
We work to keep the Service available and backed up, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. A paid trip stays live for the period its plan covers. After that, or for long-inactive free trips, we may archive or remove the page; we'll give notice by email where we can. Download anything you want to keep (for example the player list) before then.
8. Disclaimers and limits
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Park Plan LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.
9. Changes and ending your account
We may update these terms; the effective date above will change and, for significant changes, we'll tell account holders. Continuing to use the Service means you accept the update. You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We can suspend or end accounts that violate these terms.
